Who we are

Brystewood was formed in 1992 by Steve Cluff and Bryan Ketton. The company has expanded from a small 3000sq ft factory in Nottingham to its current 13000 sq ft manufacturing capacity at present.

Our target was always to manufacture special fire doors in 2/3 weeks a task which it still achieves today. More complex doors involving CNC ironmongery PVC and glazing take longer due to supply chains but an average of 4 weeks on complex door sets remains our target.

In 1996, we saw expansion into the company’s Head Office at Bilsthorpe, Nottingham. 2004 increased further the expansion of doors and ironmongery.

The factory has benefited from investment in state of the art computerized CNC routers, Sanders and Moulders for door frame stock. This enable us to produce up to 50-100 sets per day per shift currently.

2007 brought further products on stream with a more competitive FD120 doors sets a new Class 4 security doors and further improvements to our range of acoustic doors.

In 2015 we doubled production capacity added more storage and transport capabilities and increase our testing and compliance documentation ready for CE and EN Specifications.

Sustainability and Environmentally friendly supply chain is at the heart of our business– from PEFC sustainably managed timber, to factory heating powered from waste timber and compliant paints and lacquers,. Brystewood seeks to constantly improve its carbon footprint
